UltraSound

The ultrasound examination is an imaging procedure to visually represent all the soft tissue, like muscles or blood vessels. An ultrasound examination method is completely painless and risk-free.

We offer following exams:

  • Ultrasonic
  • Doppler sonography

Ultrasound

The principle of investigation based on the principle that emission of sound waves in the non-audible (ultra) frequencies to various tissues will be reflected differently. These different tissues appear on a monitor in various shades of gray.

In orthopedics, ultrasound examinations are used particularly for the diagnosis of diseases of the hip and the knee. For example, tendons, and meniscus Gelenkergüsse be displayed. Ultrasound exams are also good for monitoring the treatment’s effectiveness, such as in levels of joint inflammation.

Doppler sonography

In neurology, the assessment of vessels in the brain plays an important role. This allows the so-called Doppler ultrasound. This technique detects the state of cerebral blood flow. The Doppler ultrasound is generally used for the diagnosis of atherosclerosis, obscure dizziness, tinnitus, migraine headache and so on.

Doppler ultrasound directs ultrasound waves on the fixed blood components which are then reflected. The superimposition of the incident and the reflected waves produce an audible sound and a picture. This displays information about the direction and velocity of blood flow derived.

The investigation is totally painless and without side effects. The doctor needs only to apply a gel to the skin of the region to be examined. This is necessary because otherwise the air between the skin and probe the ultrasonic waves will be reflected.
