Orthokine ®

The body therapy

Orthokine ® is used in body therapies for the treatment of arthritis and spinal disorders. The inspiration for the development of this therapy was the fact that the protein interleukin-1 (IL-1) a significant factor in these diseases and the degeneration of cartilage substance plays a key role. To treat degenerative joint and spinal disorders we therefore use the natural antagonist, interleukin-1 receptor (IL-1Ra). IL-1Ra for its anti-inflammatory effects to soothe pain and spinal disorders.

Orthokine ® therapy in osteoarthritis of the joints

For joint complaints, particularly osteoarthritis of the knee and hip, one can expect excellent results with Orthokine ® therapy. With three-quarters of patients, pain and inflammation will be greatly reduced within a short time of treatment. The approximately 400 patients carried out osteoarthritis study of the Heinrich Heine University in Dusseldorf recently demonstrated the efficacy and safety of this therapy. Serious side effects or allergic reactions are rare with Orthokine ® studies treated patients did not occur. The study now empirically confirms the positive results of more than five years of clinical experience by Prof. Peter Wehling’s development team.

Orthokine ® therapy for spinal disorders

In degenerative diseases of the spine offers treatment with Orthokin ® an alternative to existing treatment methods. Main cause of back pain are degenerative changes in the spine or disc incidents. It is the irritation and inflammation of the nerves, such as the sciatic nerve. This triggers the typical complaints, such as broadcasting in the leg pain, and emotional disturbances.

After the injection of Orthokine ® is in two out of three patients within three weeks a significant improvement in pain. The efficacy and safety of Orthokine ® therapy for spinal disorders in 2004 in a clinical study at the Ruhr University Bochum has been investigated.
